Position Overview

The Event Management Intern will gain hands-on experience in planning, coordinating, and executing events from start to finish. This role provides exposure to various aspects of event management, including logistics, budgeting, marketing, and on-site coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, creative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. The internship offers an opportunity to develop practical skills and understand the full lifecycle of events while working closely with the event management team.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in planning and coordinating events, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
  • Research venues, vendors, and suppliers to support event preparation.
  • Help manage event logistics, including scheduling, equipment, and staffing requirements.

Marketing & Promotion Support

  • Support marketing and promotional activities related to events.
  • Assist in preparing materials and presentations for internal and client use.

On-Site Event Management

  • Support on-site event operations, including setup, flow management, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth execution and a seamless experience for attendees.

Post-Event Evaluation

  • Assist in collecting feedback, analyzing event outcomes, and preparing post-event reports.
  • Contribute ideas for improvements and enhancements for future events.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the end-to-end event planning process.
  • Develop skills in budgeting, vendor coordination, and contract management.
  • Enhance communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Gain experience handling real-time challenges and working under pressure.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or related fields. Relevant coursework or certifications are a plus.
  • Basic financial and budgeting knowledge to assist with event costs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant computer applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in Mandarin, English, and Malay.
  • Creative, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
