Event & Sponsorship Manager (Conference Activities)
Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Role Purpose
This role is commercially driven and revenue-focused. The Event & Sponsorship Manager is accountable for sponsorship sales, partnership revenue, exhibitor sales, and event execution, ensuring conferences meet or exceed financial, attendance, and brand impact targets.
This is not a coordination-only role. You will own sponsorship revenue targets and be measured on results.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver sponsorship & exhibitor revenue targets for conferences and events.
- Identify, prospect, pitch, and close sponsors, partners, and exhibitors.
- Develop compelling sponsorship packages, customised proposals, and upsell opportunities.
- Maintain a strong sponsorship pipeline and forecast revenue accurately.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with sponsors and partners.
- Plan and manage end-to-end conference execution with a commercial mindset.
- Ensure sponsor deliverables, branding exposure, speaking slots, booths, and activations are executed flawlessly.
- Work closely with operations and vendors to maximise ROI for sponsors and organisers.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for sponsors, exhibitors, and partners.
- Build long-term partnerships that lead to repeat sponsorships and multi-event deals.
- Coordinate with speakers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing to support lead generation, sponsor visibility, and event promotion.
- Provide sales-driven input into event positioning, audience targeting, and sponsor value propositions.
- Track and manage sponsorship revenue, event costs, and profit margins.
- Monitor KPIs including:
- Sponsorship revenue achieved vs target
- Number of sponsors / exhibitors secured
- Revenue per event
- Sponsor retention and satisfaction
- Prepare post-event performance reports covering revenue, sponsorship ROI, engagement metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in event sponsorship sales, partnerships, or conference commercial roles.
- Strong track record of closing sponsorship deals and meeting revenue targets.
- Confident presenter with strong pitching and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised, target-driven, and commercially savvy.
- Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Willing to travel and work extended hours during event periods.
