Job Title: Executive – Accounts

Location: Performing Arts Centre (JCPAC), Sunway City Kuala Lumpur

Department: Finance

Reports To: Finance Manager

Role Summary

The Executive – Accounts is responsible for supporting the full spectrum of finance operations at JCPAC, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial integrity while supporting the Centre's day-to-day operations and event-driven activities.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Review and validate full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL) prepared by Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare supporting schedules, management reports, and analyses for managerial review
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Review vendor invoices, staff claims, and payment processed by FSSC for accuracy and proper documentation
  • Monitor receivables, follow up on outstanding payments, and maintain ageing reports
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals for all transactions

Cash Flow & Reconciliation

  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper cash flow management
  • Monitor and track daily collections, especially for ticketing, events, and venue rentals
  • Assist in treasury-related matters where required

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including tax regulations (e.g., SST where applicable)
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and schedules
  • Maintain proper financial records and documentation for audit readiness

Operational Support

  • Work closely with operations and events teams to support financial aspects of performances and programmes
  • Assist in financial tracking for events, including revenue and cost monitoring
  • Support process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–4 years of relevant working experience (fresh graduates with strong internships may be considered)
  • Familiarity with accounting standards and financial reporting practices
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SQL, SAP, or similar) is an added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
