Job Purpose

The Executive IT is responsible for providing frontline technical support, ensuring the smooth operation of MDV's end-user systems, Microsoft 365 environment, network connectivity, and endpoint devices. This role supports the day-to-day administrative, operational, and security functions of the Technical Services (TS) Division by assisting in incident resolution, device management, account administration, and IT asset maintenance.

The position plays a key role in delivering timely and reliable IT services to all staff, enforcing technology and cybersecurity standards, and supporting ongoing digitalisation initiatives. Working closely with the IT Outsourced System Engineer (ITSOE) and the Senior Assistant Vice President (SAVP) of Technical Services, the Executive IT contributes to a secure, efficient, and user-friendly technology environment that aligns with MDV's operational needs and compliance requirements.

Job Description

A. User Support & Service Desk

  • Provide Level 1 & Level 2 technical support for end-users.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Windows OS, Microsoft 365, VPN, network access, and applications.
  • Manage incident tickets, SLAs, escalations, and follow-up actions.
  • Perform onboarding/offboarding tasks including account setup, device deployment, and access revocation.
  • Assist in staff communications, guidelines, and awareness postings.

B. Endpoint & Device Management

  • Manage laptops, desktops, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Support Microsoft Intune enrolment, compliance policies, software deployment, and patching.
  • Conduct routine device health checks and OS hardening activities.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory.

C. Network, Security & Infrastructure Support

  • Perform basic troubleshooting for LAN/WAN, WiFi, VPN, and firewall-related matters.
  • Monitor infrastructure alerts (e.g., FortiSIEM) and escalate appropriately.
  • Support implementation of cybersecurity initiatives including ZTNA, SASE, MFA enforcement, and offline/online CIRP exercises.
  • Assist in maintaining security access controls, logs, and permissions.

D. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Administration

  • Assist with mailbox management, license assignment, distribution list updates, and access reviews.
  • Support SharePoint site administration and permissions updates.
  • Monitor and verify SaaS backups (Keepit).
  • Assist in preparing system health dashboards and periodic operational reports.

E. IT Asset, Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain inventory records for all hardware and software assets.
  • Prepare and update SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly Technical Services operational reporting.
  • Track consumables and general IT requirements (e.g., peripherals, cables, toners).

F. Vendor Coordination & Procurement Support

  • Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, repairs, replacements, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in collating quotations, preparing evaluation notes, and documentation for Procurement Committee I submissions.
  • Support license renewal tracking and service contract monitoring.

G. Digitalisation & Project Support

  • Assist in deployment, UAT, and documentation for digital projects (e.g., LMS infrastructure, AI-based initiatives, Sentinel).
  • Support internal automation efforts, SharePoint site enhancement, and IT productivity improvements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or its equivalent. Microsoft Ecosystem Certified is also preferred.
  • Minimum 3 of working experience in IT.
  • Good understanding of Windows 10/11 installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive.
  • Basic understanding of Entra ID (Azure AD) user accounts, permissions, and licensing.
  • Familiarity with device imaging, software deployment, patching and compliance exposure to Microsoft Intune is an advantage.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN concepts, WiFi, IP addressing, VPN connectivity, and network troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of hardware components, peripherals, IT inventory processes, and asset lifecycle concepts.
  • Understanding of password policies, MFA, phishing risks, PDPA principles, and basic security hygiene.
  • Ability to prepare IT reports, checklists, incident logs, SOP updates, and inventory records.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform Level 1 & Level 2 troubleshooting for hardware, software, network, and Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Skill in diagnosing and resolving user incidents efficiently.
  • Knowledge in handling onboarding/offboarding processes (accounts, access rights, device setup).
  • Able to support cloud environments, backups, and account provisioning activities.
  • Capable of supporting digital workplace tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Able to escalate complex issues to SAVP Technical Services with proper context and documentation.

Additional Advantageous Skills/Exposure

  • Exposure to SIEM/SOC operations (e.g., FortiSIEM).
  • Exposure to FortiGate firewall concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, CIRP exercises, and incident handling flows.
  • Ability to prepare simple SharePoint pages or Power Automate flows.
  • Understanding of ITIL concepts (Incident, Change, Service Request).
