We are looking for an Executive, Legal (Corporate). This position will be responsible to assist Head of Unit, Legal (Corporate) on the day-to-day operation of the department which includes providing advisory services and drafting/vetting of all legal documents, letters etc.
Job Description
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements governing corporate activities.
- Assist in develop and implement legal strategies aligned with corporate objectives and long-term goals.
- Advise any inquiry on legal implications and strategies to optimize corporate performance.
- Oversee legal due diligence for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to structure and negotiate deals, ensuring legal compliance.
- Draft, review, and execute a wide range of legal agreements central to corporate operations.
- Ensure that contracts and agreements align with the organization's strategic objectives and legal requirements.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel, engaging their services when necessary for specialized legal matters.
- Ensure that corporate activities adhere to legal standards, industry best practices, and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align corporate structures with overall business objectives.
- Foster transparency in reporting on legal matters related to the overall corporate entity.
- Play a key role in providing legal support for strategic initiatives and major corporate projects.
- Ensure legal considerations are integrated into decision-making processes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement risk management strategies for corporate activities, identifying and mitigating legal risks.
- Provide prompt and effective legal assistance and advice on ad-hoc issues as they arise in the course of corporate operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address legal challenges promptly and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum a Bachelor's holder in law from recognized higher education institution.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years relevant working experience
- Working experience in government Agency/ GLC company is highly desirable
- Proven track record of adding value to an organisation through the development of comprehensive contract documents that mitigate risk and penalties.
- Proven track record of managing corporate secretarial functions
