Job description:
Key Responsibilities :
1. Category & Supplier Management
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies to optimize sales and profitability.
- Negotiate supplier trading terms, including cost, rebates, promotions and marketing support.
- Build strong supplier relationships to enhance product offerings and exclusivity.
- Manage the full product lifecycle, from sourcing and listing to pricing and discontinuation.
2. Sales Performance & Market Analysis
- Monitor sales trends and customer preferences to make data-driven merchandising decisions.
- Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Forecast sales and manage purchases for the centralized warehouse, ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
3. In-Store Execution & Visual Merchandising
- Work closely with store operations and visual merchandisers to ensure effective planogram execution and in-store product placement.
- Develop promotional strategies and campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Ensure high merchandising standards and brand consistency across all store locations.
Requirements:
1. 3+ years of experience in retail merchandising, category management, or a related field.
2. Diploma/Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
3. Strong negotiation and communication skills to build supplier partnerships.
4. Proficiency in space planning software (e.g., Nielsen Spaceman, JDA, Apollo) is an advantage.
5. Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
