Job Description

Job Summary

Seeking a proactive candidate to support the execution of the Foresight Division's initiatives through systematic scanning of industry and technology landscapes, identification of high-growth and high-impact sectors, and provision of analytical inputs to inform strategic planning. The role involves coordinating projects, monitoring progress against defined objectives, and conducting research on market trends and emerging or disruptive technologies to support departmental priorities. The position focuses on operational execution, including stakeholder coordination, data collection and analysis, preparation of strategic roadmaps, frameworks, and implementation plans, as well as drafting reports and policy inputs that contribute to national future-readiness. The role ensures alignment of outputs with national policies and frameworks such as RMK-13, MADANI Economy Framework, and MyDIGITAL, while supporting timely delivery of initiatives. By providing evidence-based analysis and implementation support, this role contributes to the department's mission of promoting digital adoption, sustainability, inclusivity, innovation, and Malaysia's broader socioeconomic advancement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting industry and technology landscape scanning to identify high-growth and high impact sectors that support evidence-based strategic planning and departmental initiatives.
  • Support research on market trends, emerging technologies, disruptive innovations, and socioeconomic developments to provide relevant inputs for future industry planning.
  • Assist in collecting, validating, and analyzing data from internal and external sources to support Division/Department studies, strategic papers, and policy recommendations.
  • Assist in coordinating projects, meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements to ensure timely execution and alignment with departmental objectives.
  • Support the preparation of strategic roadmaps, frameworks, reports, briefing notes, and policy inputs to contribute to national future-readiness and informed decision-making.
  • Assist in monitoring progress against approved objectives, milestones, and indicators to support performance tracking and effective delivery of foresight initiatives.
  • Support the development and maintenance of knowledge repositories, reference materials, industry data, and research databases to ensure information is properly documented and accessible.
  • Assist in preparing presentation decks, management updates, and executive summaries to communicate foresight findings, strategic insights, and implementation progress.
  • Support coordination with internal divisions, government agencies, industry partners, and relevant stakeholders to gather inputs and align initiatives with national policy frameworks.
  • Assist in identifying risks, opportunities, and implementation gaps arising from industry trends, market shifts, and stakeholder feedback to support timely strategic response.
  • Support the preparation of industry white papers, thought-leadership materials, and strategic discussion papers to strengthen FSD's role in future industry visioning.
  • Assist in documenting meeting outcomes, action items, stakeholder feedback, and follow-up matters to ensure proper tracking, accountability, and continuity of departmental initiatives.

Qualification & Work Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, Actuarial Sciences, Business, Economics, Information Technology, Public Policy or any related field from a reputable University with minimum CGPA of 3.20.
  2. Minimum 1-3 years of experience in technology innovation, strategic planning, policy development, analysis, or project coordination, preferably within government, regulatory, or industry sectors.
  3. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities as well as deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Exceptional executive communication skills which can be capable of translating abstract future concepts into board-level narratives, including thought-leadership papers, scenario decks, and C-suite presentations.
  5. Strong foundation in data collection, research, analysis, report preparation to support decision making, market structure analysis, and policy interaction with industries.
  6. Excellence as advisory in relevant areas, including digital technology and innovation, business growth, process/performance improvement, and stakeholder engagement/ communication.
  7. Mastery of qualitative foresight tools, scenario storytelling, systems thinking, and relevant frameworks. Ability to guide executive workshops and facilitate visioning exercises with senior stakeholders.
  8. Exposure to public–private ecosystems and cross industry collaboration on long-term futures.

  • Supports the facilitation of visioning workshops, foresight labs, and multi-stakeholder strategy sessions.

  • Participates in stakeholder engagement activities and supports change initiatives aligned with long-term goals.
  • Assists in ideating and evaluating future business models with consideration for digitalization, sustainability, and innovation.

Candidate must be willing to work in Cyberjaya and Malaysian Citizen.
