Job Purpose
The key role of Level 2 Operations & Analytics is to act as Level 2 Reviewer for all Balance Sheet accounts bank-wide by performing in-depth reconciliation review to monitor the aging of transactions, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of information provided, working with business units to resolve any reconciliation issues (long outstanding aging, unreconciled variances). This is business unit focused role so it is expected to build and maintain strong working relationship across business unit to understand the operations.
The position is responsible for the following:
Operations
- Conduct review on monthly reconciliation submission to ensure adherence to bank's Policies & Procedures and escalate issues when necessary.
- Prepare analysis for management on reconciliation issues found with its resolution plans and to monitor the progress on monthly basis.
- Close monitoring and immediate escalation on all outstanding items with respective business unit for resolution, provide solutions, and support bank-wide remediation programmes.
- Proactive engagement with business unit for better understanding on the end-to-end product knowledge and business operations.
- Review Write-Off and Write-Back proposal submitted by business unit and to ensure the items are qualified for Write-Off and Write-Back accordance to the requirement set by the bank.
- Provide financial & accounting advice to business units as and when requiredo Support and attend to internal and external auditor field works.
Analysis
- Understand and analyse bank's operation to provide operational insights to the operations of the bank and plan to verify the appropriateness of reconciliation prepared by Level 1 Recon Owner.
- Validate and review the justification provided by L1 Recon Owner on all long outstanding items and monthly variances against Trial Balance.
- Verify the resolution plan and targeted actions items provided by L1 Recon PIC by assessing the supporting information given.
- Perform effective follow up on action plan to resolve long outstanding items to ensure the timeliness resolution KPI can be met.

Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Accounting Professional Qualification.
- Professional Qualification and/or Regulatory, Licensing requirements
Relevant Work Experience
- 3-5 years working experience in Financial & Accounting with good functional exposure to Finance & Accounting processes (R2R, Financial Compliance & Accounting Standards, Financial Analysis, Shared Services, Audit & Compliance)
- Experience in banking industry is preferred, but not mandatory
- Substantial skills in financial analysis in the past work experience.
Required Competencies and Skills
Technical/Functional skills
- University level degree Finance/Accounting or any related field
- Knowledgeable on GL and reporting processes with hands-on experience and understanding of financial impact
- Strong knowledge in end to end process of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle and SAP.
