Major Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- To ensure all the operation processes at IETS plants are functioning properly.
- To monitor the IETS processes from raw effluent to final discharge point according to the sampling and testing plan, including checking the IETS equipment or parts condition.
- To inspect and monitor effluent quality prior to discharge, and perform the necessary analyses to ensure compliance with required standards and regulations.
- To carry out troubleshooting on operational issues in industrial effluent treatment processes, identify the root causes, and implement effective solutions to ensure continuous and reliable plant performance.
- To send treated effluent samples for external laboratory analysis, review effluent test reports, and report results in the Online Environmental Reporting (OER) system monthly.
- To manage inventory control and purchase of chemicals and equipment required for IETS operations.
- To carry out the Environmental Performance Monitoring Committee meeting.
- To issue requisition forms/Service Orders for equipment and chemical purchases, servicing and repair works as needed, and liaise with suppliers for IETS upgrades and mini projects.
- To carry out maintenance and minor repair work on equipment with the Supervisor (QA-IETS) and Operator (QA-IETS).
- To conduct theoretical and practical training to Supervisor (QA-IETS) and Operator (QA-IETS).
- To carry out continuous improvement project in IETS.
- To liaise with external parties on matters relating to the IETS (e.g. DOE officers, 3rd party testing laboratories, and IETS suppliers).
- To support and maintain the quality and food safety management system, including equipment calibration, plant sanitation, and pest control program (QA roles).
- Undertaking any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have:
- Possess at least a Bachelor Degree in relevant discipline, preferably in Environmental Science or a related scientific discipline.
- Knowledge and/or experience in related field and Industrial Effluent Treatment System would be an added advantage.
- Preferably holds a valid CePIETSO-PCP/BP certificate.
- Able to work quite independently with little or minimal supervision
- Good analytical, problem solving, decision making and assertive skill.
- Positive thinking, thorough, flexible and have good time management skill.
- Good people management skills and able to communicate effectively with all level of employees in the organization.
- Computer-literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- To be based in Alor Gajah, Melaka would be an added advantage.
- To possess own transport.
