Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Lead and manage maintenance planning for plant facilities, including factory buildings, offices, warehouses, utilities, and all common areas.
  2. Lead and manage facilities upgrade and development projects, including building renovations, refurbishments, and other facility improvements.
  3. Plan and execute facility-related projects in line with operational priorities, ensuring proper cost control, timely completion, and compliance with safety and quality requirements.
  4. Work closely across functional teams and with external parties to ensure facility-related matters are well coordinated and support daily operational needs.
  5. Source, manage, and supervise external contractors and service providers.
  6. Ensure full compliance with company policies, local authorities and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO certificates, DOSH, BOMBA, local council, and environmental regulations)
  7. Serve as the main contact person for all facility and building matters, ensuring issues are followed up promptly and resolved effectively to avoid operational disruptions.
  8. Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure proper condition and functionality, adherence to best practices, and continuous improvement. Implement corrective actions to maintain high standards.
  9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for maintenance activities, inspections, permits, and service contracts.
  10. Prepare and present regular reports on facility performance, key issues, and improvement plans to management.
  11. Undertaking any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  1. Possess at least Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Management, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 8 years experience in facilities management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong coordination, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely across functional teams and with external parties.
  4. Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a practical and solution-oriented approach.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to supervise team members effectively.
  6. Good time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  7. Experience in contractor and vendor management, including performance monitoring and compliance enforcement.
  8. Good understanding of workplace safety, health, and quality standards.
  9. Computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office, other relevant software and application.
  10. Based in Alor Gajah, Melaka
