Summary of the role
As Factory Manager, you'll own end-to-end factory performance across Production and Engineering, delivering safe, compliant and reliable operations while improving OEE, cost, quality and service. You'll lead day-to-day execution and long-term capability building through structured continuous improvement, reliability programs, and disciplined project delivery (including automation and digitalisation) to support growth and supply reliability.
What you'll be doing
- Factory leadership & delivery: lead Production and Engineering teams to deliver plan attainment and supply reliability while controlling factory overhead and people cost.
- Performance, reliability & compliance: drive OEE and equipment reliability (breakdowns, constraints, maintenance discipline), ensuring compliance with food safety and quality systems (HACCP, GMP, FSSC) plus strong SHE and environmental standards.
- CI, automation & digitalisation: build a CI culture using structured problem-solving and best-practice benchmarking, and embed digital tools (OEE dashboards, digital shift handover, downtime capture) to improve decision-making and execution discipline.
- Capex, technical governance & capability building: lead engineering/ project delivery from scope to commissioning and stabilisation (including new processes/ technologies), while coaching leaders and strengthening technical and leadership capability across shopfloor and support teams.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Chemical/ Electrical/ Manufacturing/ Mechatronic) or Food Science (Engineering preferred).
- At least 12 years experience in manufacturing leadership, with strong exposure to both production operations and engineering/ reliability (Food/ FMCG experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of food processing and plant operations; exposure to canning/ thermal processes and hygienic engineering is a plus.
- Proven track record delivering OEE improvement, plan attainment, cost control, and reliability uplift through CI systems.
- Strong project/ capex management capability, including automation/ digitalisation implementation and change leadership on the shopfloor.
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills; able to lead cross-functional teams.
