Role Summary
Hands-on field role to maintain and restore live fiber optic networks. Responsible for fault repair, splicing, testing, and on-site coordination to ensure quick service restoration and network reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fiber faults and breakdowns (planned & unplanned)
- Perform fiber splicing, jointing, and cable restoration
- Handle core identification, configuration, and fiber pair management
- Conduct fiber testing using OTDR, Power Meter, Light Source
- Ensure quality splicing, testing results, and basic documentation
- Coordinate with local authorities, contractors, and external teams
- Support route protection, patrolling, and preventive maintenance
- Provide outage updates and restoration status (MTTR / ETTR)
Key Skills & Requirements
- Strong experience in live fiber O&M
- Hands-on with splicing and testing tools
- Understanding of backbone fiber networks (96 / 432 / 864 core)
- Ability to work on-site under pressure
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Focus on fast restoration and fault prevention
