Position Summary

Field Applications Specialist

Reporting to the Field Applications Manager, this customer-focused technical role provides end-to-end pre-sales and post-sales application support for GeneMind's NGS systems. It integrates hands-on lab expertise, technical training, customer troubleshooting and market intelligence collection, acting as a critical technical partner for both customers and the sales team. You will ensure smooth instrument deployment, efficient issue resolution and optimal system utilization, while boosting customer satisfaction and supporting the achievement of global sales and business goals. This role requires frequent global travel for on-site support.

Key Measures Of Success

  • Deliver effective pre-installation guidance to ensure timely and smooth instrument deployment
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction with training, on-site support and troubleshooting
  • Resolve NGS technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions to customer workflows
  • Provide complete, timely customer feedback and competitive intelligence reports
  • Collaborate closely with sales teams to support lead conversion and hit sales targets
  • Independently complete full NGS workflows including library prep and sequencing

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide standardized pre-installation guidance, and deliver on-site training and technical support for customer FAS and end-user technicians operating GeneMind systems.
  • Respond quickly to on-site customer technical issues, escalate to headquarters, collaborate on solutions and implement fixes; follow up consistently until issues are fully resolved.
  • Collect competitor product and market information, and submit timely intelligence reports to headquarters.
  • Track and report customer feedback on GeneMind systems, and collect all user complaints and improvement suggestions.
  • Provide professional technical suggestions on GeneMind systems for sales teams, and assist sales in achieving sales targets.
  • Independently perform full NGS library preparation and sequencing experiments, adhering to standard operating procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in life science or related majors.
  • At least 2 years of NGS/TGS technical experience or 2+ years of NGS R&D experience; willing to travel globally for on-site support.
  • Solid NGS knowledge, proficient in NGS wet-lab and dry-lab operations; able to independently complete full NGS library preparation and sequencing. Bioinformatics background is preferred.
  • Fluent in spoken English; able to read and utilize information from English technical materials proficiently.
  • Willing to travel as required by sales teams, and flexible to regional assignments based on project needs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and able to work independently and cross-functionally.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Prior field applications or technical support experience in genomics, NGS or life science instrumentation industry
  • Hands-on experience with multiple NGS platforms and diverse library preparation technologies
  • Experience delivering technical training to cross-regional or international audiences
  • Knowledge of clinical sequencing applications, IVD regulatory requirements or genomic data analysis tools
  • Strong self-motivation, time management and cross-cultural collaboration skills
