Field Project Engineer

Location: Puchong, Selangor (with frequent offshore and site assignments)

Nexus DNL is seeking an experienced and motivated Field Project Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diesel engine power generation , air compressor and rotating equipment systems for offshore Oil & Gas facilities. Key Responsibilities

* Lead and execute offshore installation, commissioning, maintenance, and overhaul of diesel engine generator packages.

* Coordinate project execution from mobilization through final handover.

* Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis of diesel engine and auxiliary systems.

* Supervise subcontractors and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

* Prepare daily progress reports, technical reports, commissioning records, and punch lists.

* Coordinate with clients, vendors, classification societies, and internal engineering teams.

* Ensure compliance with HSE procedures and offshore safety requirements.

* Support emergency call-outs and shutdown activities when required.

* Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and client inspections.

Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.

* Minimum 2 years of offshore experience in diesel engine generator installation, commissioning, maintenance, or overhaul.

* Hands-on experience with medium-speed or high-speed industrial diesel engines used in offshore applications.

* Strong knowledge of engine control systems, alternators, fuel systems, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and electrical protection.

* Experience with major engine brands such as Caterpillar, MTU, Cummins, MAN, Wärtsilä, Bergen, or Yanmar is an advantage.

* Able to read engineering drawings, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.

* Offshore certifications (BOSIET/FOET, HUET, OGSP Medical, etc.) are preferred.

* Willing to travel extensively and work offshore on rotational assignments.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

* Engine commissioning and performance testing.

* Load bank testing and synchronization systems.

* Engine alignment and vibration assessment.

* Project planning and coordination.

* Client-facing communication and technical reporting.

* Knowledge of hazardous area (ATEX/IECEx) requirements is an added advantage.
