Field Service Engineer (Marine)

Client Background: A German Engineering company with business in marine, power and rotating equipments across SEA region.

Responsibilities:

.Provide mechanical technical service installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, overhauls and modernization for engines and turbochargers manufactured by the company and affiliated companies on seagoing vessels and power plants.

.Provide mechanical technical advice provide training and service program information including follow-up to previously visited vessels as well as engine related support to our customers.

.Trouble shooting and pinpointing of mechanical failures of two-stroke and four-stroke engines

.Performing of repairs and execution of retrofits on existing installations

.Advising of repairs mechanical wise

.Create service report on executed works with final conclusion

.Professional / technical development

.Attend engine quay trial and sea trials according to procedures to ensure engine performs as designed

.Sub-con engine follow up at shipyards

.Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

.Bachelor's Degree in marine or mechanical engineering or related engineering field. Seven or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

.Knowledge of mechanical systems in diesel engines

.Deep knowledge of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines and possibly turbochargers and propellers

.Team player able to maintain good relations with colleagues and customers

.Experienced in working independently

.Experienced and able to handle intensive travelling via car, train, plane, launch boat, and in extreme cases on helicopter in short notice
