Position Overview

The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the primary training resource for security operations across datacenter campuses in Johor Bahru (JB). The role is responsible for delivering onboarding, certification, sustainment, and compliance training while supporting continuous improvement in safety, operational excellence, and training effectiveness.

Reporting directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), the FTO partners closely with campus leadership, regional stakeholders, and global training teams to identify training needs, assess workforce capability, and drive training initiatives. While the position has no direct reports, it plays a critical role in developing security personnel and maintaining training standards across sites.

Regular travel may be required across datacenter campuses within JHB to support training delivery, audits, assessments, and operational readiness initiatives.

About The role:

• Deliver onboarding, certification, and sustainment training for security personnel.
• Conduct classroom and on-the-job training, assessments, and competency evaluations.
• Serve as the primary training contact for security staff, AOs, and site leadership.
• Track training completion, certifications, compliance, and role-based training gaps.
• Maintain accurate training, safety, and audit documentation.
• Partner with site leaders, PMO, and regional teams to implement training plans.
• Promote a strong safety culture and escalate identified risks or concerns.
• Adapt global training programs and materials to local operational requirements.
• Recommend improvements to onboarding, training processes, and overall security readiness.

Hiring Requirements

• Local language skills at native level or minimum business proficiency level are required.
• Proficient in English, minimum business proficiency level.
• Must have the legal rights to work in Malaysia.

Skills Required

• Associate degree and four or more years of experience in the security industry and/or business management, including at least two years of training experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the role, as determined by the company.
• Experience in data center operations and training development is desirable.
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and delivering training independently.
• Professional, reliable, and detail oriented.
• Frequent travel is required across JB sites.
