Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Finance & Accounts Manager on matters related to the finance operations, including areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, banking and financial aspects of control procedures.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handling accounts payable to ensure transactions are processed, authorized and paid in accordance with payment terms;
  • Handling accounts receivable, including collection, student deposit refund;
  • Managing and updating students financial transactions in the hostel management system, including check-ins, renewals, room changes, posting charges, and check-outs;
  • Review tenancy agreements for accuracy and completeness; cross-check tenancy details against system records and flag discrepancies for correction;
  • Update tenancy details in the stamp duty file, upload them to the IRB portal and process payment.
  • Handling the cash book to ensure proper maintenance of banking records and cash book transactions, including receipts and payments;
  • Handling procurementprocesses with regardsto coordinating thepurchase requisition process between the requester and the Central Purchasing Department, including the issuance of purchasing documents and PO;
  • To assist the Finance & Accounts Manager with regard to compiling information as required bythe Auditor andTax Agent in complying with thestatutory requirement;
  • To assist Finance & AccountsManager with regardsto compiling and coordinating informationrequired for thepreparation and thefollow up monitoring of long term projections and short-term budgets;
  • Handles general administration duties with regard to coordinating the purchase of office supplies and office equipment.
  • Back-up resource for members of the finance team when absent.
  • Other ad-hoc assignments from time to time.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification

Degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification in Accountancy/ Finance.

Related Experience

Preferably with at least 3-5 years of relevant working experience.

  • Proficient in using computer software e.g. Microsoft software applications
  • Knowledge in accounting software, particularly SAP is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently
