Working Duration: 12 months contract (Renewable based on performance)
Working Days/Hours: Monday Friday; 9am - 6pm (Hybrid - 3 days WFO 2 days WFH)
Salary: Basic range from RM5,000 - 6,000 (Based on experience & skills) with statutory contribution + leave entitlement + medical coverage
What will this person do in the role
- Main job scope is to review financial month end closing tasks, tax & statutory work prepared by Centre of Excellence (Mumbai)/ Accounting Operations teams
- Key tasks include (non-exhaustive):
- Managing cashflow & hedging (Reviewing cashflow forecasts, managing fund transfers)
- Reviewing Intercompany payment proposals, including application of Withholding Tax
- Reviewing internal & external Tax submissions (Sales & Service Tax, Withholding Tax, Corporate Income Tax)
- Reviewing Regulatory, statutory & Tax workings & submissions (e.g. to Statutory audit, Corporate Tax, SST, WHT, Bank Negara Malaysia)
- Managing Stamp Duty payments & instructions
- Providing business support on Bid/ Tender financial information required
- Managing application & issuance of Financial Support Undertaking (e.g. Tender Deposits, Bank guarantees)
- Managing Requisitions, Goods received & payment of Tax, Audit, Regulatory & statutory related payments
- May prepare review and/or approve journal entries, money moves, administrative system accounting reports and/or consolidated statements. Analyses and maintains the general ledger accounts and/or client insured records.
- May prepare and analyse revenue and/or expense reports; coordinates revenue and expense accruals and ensures timely and accurate monthly and quarterly close. Performs variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts, including variances to forecast, budget and prior year.
- May apply and balance funds to insured records; may process refunds to insured records; may request payments for carriers and third parties including variances to forecast, budget and prior year.
- May prepare higher level of reconciliations between administrative systems and other sources. Findings may be presented to senior manager.
- Verifies work of and provides guidance to less experienced levels of accountants. Position may provide functional advice or training to less-experienced accountant positions. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, SOX procedures, SSAE16 procedures tax regulations, local GAAP and US GAAP and local statutory regulations (as applicable) regarding financial matters.
Requirements:
MustHave
- Minimum 3 years in accounting (shared services or similar environment)
- Hands-on accounting: JEs, reconciliations, close, reporting
- Local tax exposure: SST/WHT basics; journaling & submissions support
- Statutory/audit experience: coordinating deliverables, addressing queries
- Strong stakeholder skills: internal (finance/CoE) & external (tax/audit/legal)
- Excel proficiency; solid understanding of finance operations/process
