FINANCE ANALYST (GROUP FP&A & BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE)

Role Description

Rentalworks Group is seeking a highly analytical and commercially minded Finance Analyst to support our regional finance operations across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, including subsidiaries.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning numbers into business insights and wants exposure beyond traditional accounting. You will work directly with the Group Head of Finance to provide strategic financial analysis, management reporting and decision-ready insights for senior management and Board of Directors (BOD).

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Support annual budgeting, rolling forecast and financial planning process.
• Analyze monthly financial performance against budget and forecast.
• Perform variance analysis and identify key business drivers.
• Build financial models and business scenarios to support decision-making.

Management Reporting & Analytics

• Prepare monthly management reports and financial dashboards.
• Analyze:
• Revenue performance
• Profitability trends
• Cost structure
• Cash flow movement
• Working capital
• Business unit performance
• Translate financial data into meaningful management insights.

BOD & Strategic Decision Support

• Assist in preparing Board of Directors (BOD) financial reporting packs.
• Develop financial presentations and executive summaries.
• Support strategic initiatives, business case evaluation and profitability analysis.

Cash Flow & Treasury Analytics

• Support weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting.
• Monitor collection trend, payment obligations and liquidity position.
• Analyze funding cost and treasury-related data.

Business Intelligence & Process Improvement

• Develop and improve reporting dashboards and automation.
• Identify trends, risks, inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
• Improve reporting accuracy and reduce manual reporting dependency.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Sales and Management teams across regional entities.
• Support data gathering and business performance analysis.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics or related discipline.
• Professional qualification (ACCA / CPA / CIMA) is an advantage.

Experience

• 3–6 years relevant experience in:
• FP&A
• Financial Analysis
• Commercial Finance
• Corporate Finance
• Business Intelligence
• Experience in multi-entity or regional reporting is preferred.
• Leasing, financing or B2B industry exposure is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (mandatory)
• Financial modelling
• Pivot table
• Dashboard
• Data analysis
• Experience in Power BI / Tableau is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
