Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial screening of inbound deal opportunities across private credit, private equity, and real estate-backed transactions.
  • Prepare deal one-pagers and preliminary screening memos summarising commercial rationale, key risks, and indicative returns.
  • Build and maintain deal pipeline trackers; ensure all opportunities are logged, categorised, and progressed.
  • Support due diligence: assemble data room indexes, draft DD question lists, coordinate with external advisors (legal, tax, valuation).
  • Assist in drafting Investment Committee materials and supporting financial analysis.
  • Own the quarterly portfolio review cycle: collect data from investee companies, build review packs, and flag variances against the original investment thesis.
  • Perform financial review of investee company management accounts, covenant compliance, and operating KPIs; escalate issues to the CEO and CIO.
  • Maintain the master portfolio dashboard (NAV, IRR / MOIC, drawdowns, distributions, key covenants, upcoming events).
  • Coordinate investor reporting cycles, including quarterly investor letters, capital account statements, and ad-hoc LP information requests.
  • Track upcoming corporate actions across portfolio companies (refinancings, redemptions, board meetings, exits) and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, briefing packs, and follow-up action trackers for board, partner, Investment Committee, and investor meetings.
  • Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, presentations, and internal documents to a high standard.
  • Coordinate scheduling, travel, and logistics for the CEO and CIO around deal milestones, investor meetings, and external engagements.
  • Liaise with internal principals (Chairman, Compliance) and external counterparties (legal, audit, regulators, investors) on behalf of the CEO and CIO.
  • Handle confidential financial, personal, and counterparty information with absolute discretion.
  • Maintain the firm's deal, governance, and compliance filing system.
  • Support the preparation of board and Investment Committee meeting packs.
  • Assist Compliance with KYC / AML onboarding documentation and PEP / beneficial owner declarations as needed.
  • Coordinate signing, execution, and archiving of legal documents (SPAs, subscription agreements, side letters, fund documents).

Key Requirements

  • Strong degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related quantitative discipline from a reputable university.
  • Comfortable reading financial statements, building basic Excel models (three-statement, returns waterfalls, covenant tests), and writing clear, structured analysis.
  • Genuine, demonstrable care for accuracy — in numbers, in document formatting, in spelling, in scheduling.
  • Ability to juggle multiple workstreams, anticipate what is needed next, and keep the CEO and CIO ahead of deadlines rather than behind them.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; able to draft polished memos, emails, and presentations with minimal supervision.
  • Mature handling of confidential financial, personal, and counterparty information.
  • Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Comfortable picking up new tools (data rooms, CRM, portfolio management software).
  • Prior experience in transaction advisory, audit, investment banking, private equity, private credit, asset management, or a family office.
  • Progress towards a professional qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, MICPA, CFA) — qualified or part qualified.
  • Exposure to fund structures (VCC, Cayman, Labuan) and basic familiarity with SC Malaysia / MAS regulatory frameworks.
  • Working proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin.
