Job Description

A leading organisation in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Finance Data Analyst to provide essential support across both project initiatives and BAU operations. This role offers you the opportunity to work at the heart of finance data management, collaborating with local business units, shared services, and system administrators to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information.

Roles will involve :

Review and maintain comprehensive finance data models that support the needs of Central Entities, Local Business Units, and Shared Services throughout software development lifecycles including SIT and UAT phases.

Manage master data such as company mappings, cost centre mappings, account mappings, and hierarchies tailored for each Local Business Unit to ensure consistency across platforms.
Maintain reference data including project codes and exchange rates to guarantee accurate reporting and analytics.

Handle transaction data by overseeing various transactional data sources required for effective financial operations.

Gather and validate detailed data requirements from LBU Finance teams specifically for HR systems including mappings, hierarchies, and transaction data.

Collaborate closely with the Data Lead to track unresolved data issues, prioritise critical fixes, and coordinate mitigation actions that enhance overall data quality.

Define business-as-usual support activities by establishing operating models and governance processes for finance data maintenance in partnership with LBUs and Systems Administrators.
Establish golden sources for key finance data elements by agreeing on ownership structures that promote accountability within the network.

Act as Level 2 Finance Support by responding promptly to queries and resolving issues related to finance data across multiple platforms.

Develop interactive dashboards for analytics using Power BI or similar tools to provide actionable insights for decision-makers.


Your background should include :

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or a related field demonstrating your foundational understanding of financial principles.

Proven experience (2-5 years) in finance data management, financial systems or business analysis roles where you have developed dependable analytical skills.

Strong understanding of finance data structures including hierarchies and mappings which enables you to maintain high standards of accuracy.

Experience using Data Insights or similar Enterprise Performance Management tools allowing you to deliver reliable solutions for complex requirements.

Proficiency in Power BI or other recognised data visualisation platforms so you can create engaging dashboards that support informed decision-making.

Knowledge of established data governance principles along with practical experience implementing operating models within large organisations.

Excellent stakeholder management abilities combined with clear communication skills that foster trust among colleagues at all levels.

Demonstrated analytical thinking paired with effective problem-solving capabilities that help resolve issues quickly while maintaining positive relationships.

Project coordination experience within finance systems implementation environments showing your ability to balance priorities across BAU and project settings.

Familiarity with ERP systems as well as General Ledger (GL) integration processes which supports seamless financial operations.
