Role Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Finance Executive to join our Finance team in Kuala Lumpur. This role is primarily responsible for ensuring timely billing, accurate recording of customer payments, and effective management of outstanding receivables across multiple entities, while also providing support to the Accounts Payable (AP) function.

The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and solution-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills, hands-on experience in multi-currency and foreign exchange transactions, and basic knowledge of sales taxes and withholding tax (WHT) regulations in SEA countries. The role suits someone with a proactive attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges beyond the core AR scope.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue client invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with contractual and tax requirements.

Record and reconcile customer receipts across various payment platforms and currencies.

Perform AR ageing analysis and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure healthy cash flow.

Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Payroll, Benefits) to resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.

Maintain and update customer account statements, supporting monthly closing activities.

Assist in revenue reconciliation and intercompany transactions related to AR.

Support bad debt provisioning and write-off calculations.

Prepare AR-related reports for management review (aging, collection status, DSO analysis, etc.).

Support audit and tax filing requirements by preparing relevant AR documentation.

Contribute to system automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance AR efficiency.

Support Accounts Payable (AP) functions where needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments and vendor reconciliations.

Support intercompany and internal funding activities, including fund transfers, balance reconciliations, and documentation to ensure accurate and compliant reporting across entities.

Open to taking up additional or ad-hoc assignments and job rotations within the finance department to support cross-functional learning and development.

Who You Are:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or similar finance role.

Hands-on experience in multi-currency and foreign exchange transactions is a must.

Basic knowledge of sales taxes and withholding tax (WHT) regulations in SEA countries.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Familiarity with QuickBooks Online will be an advantage

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions.

Naturally curious and eager to understand end-to-end finance processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
