The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) was established in 1974 to enhance Malaysia's hotel and tourism industry. Representing over 1,000 member hotels across 13 chapters, MAH collaborates with private sectors and government agencies such as the Ministry of Tourism to uphold service quality. As the officially recognized National Hotel Association, MAH is dedicated to advancing standards of hospitality excellence in Malaysia. Through partnerships and advocacy efforts, MAH continues to strengthen the industry's growth and sustainability.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Finance Executive to join out team. This full-time on-site role that is located in Ampang, will handle daily financial operations, including preparing and maintaining full set of accounts, processing payments, monthly reconciliation, as well as overseeing credit control, payroll processing and chapter's account management. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with financial regulations, assisting in audits, and generating insightful financial reports to support decision-making processes. The role requires a proactive approach to financial analysis and maintaining accurate data for the organization's operations.

The Finance Executive's role involves close collaboration with Finance Manager and other departments to ensure smooth financial operations, effective cash flow management and sound internal controls. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, organized and possesses strong analytical and communication skills to support both MAH and MAHTEC in achieving their financial and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain proper accounting systems, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing sets of accounts, financial statement and monthly reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts receivable and payable, petty cash and bank transactions.
  • Assist in payroll processing and ensure timely statutory payments (EPF, SOCSO, Income Tax, Zakat).
  • Oversee credit control systems and monitor outstanding payments.
  • Support finance related initiatives and dialogues with government agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and maintain effective banking relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficiency in accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis
  • Experience in compliance with financial regulations, audits, and e-invoice
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in maintaining financial records and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial and accounting software; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience in the hospitality or tourism industry is beneficial but not mandatory
