Prepare annual statutory accounts in compliance with accounting standards and ensure timely submission to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM).
Coordinate with tax consultants to support Corporate Income Tax and Petroleum Income Tax filings for Malaysia and Thailand, ensuring compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Ensure accurate preparation and submission of other tax filings such as Sales and Service Tax (SST) in accordance with statutory requirements.
Perform year-end accounts closing, ensuring all general ledger balances are accurate and properly carried forward into the new financial year.
Liaise with internal and external auditors by providing required documents, responding to audit queries, and supporting audit completion within timelines.
Generate and review monthly and quarterly financial reports, including utilization and performance reports for management review.
Monitor financial performance by comparing actual expenditure against budget and forecast, and provide variance analysis.
Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures in line with company requirements and regulatory standards.
Ensure all accounting and financial activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and HSE standards.
Requirement(s):
Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
Minimum 6 years of working experience as a Financial Accountant or Tax Accountant.
Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry will be an added advantage.
Hands-on experience using accounting systems such as SAP or similar ERP systems.
Proven experience in preparing and maintaining a full set of accounts, including balance sheet and profit & loss statements.
Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, taxation, and audit processes.
Good analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
