Our client is an established manufacturing organisation with a solid track record and regional presence. To support the next phase of growth and enhance financial stewardship across the business, the company is seeking a General Manager, Finance to partner with senior leadership and drive sustainable performance. Key responsibilities

Provide strategic financial leadership to the business, partnering closely with senior management to support decision‑making, performance improvement, and sustainable growth.
Oversee the full spectrum of finance and controlling activities, including financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term business planning.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance policies.
Lead and strengthen financial controlling structures and processes, driving discipline in cost control, budget management, and financial performance monitoring.
Deliver meaningful financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to improve profitability, operational efficiency, risk management, and resource allocation.
Support business strategy development through financial modelling, scenario analysis, and evaluation of strategic initiatives.
Drive the annual budgeting, rolling forecast, and medium‑term planning processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and growth priorities.
Ensure effective risk management practices are embedded across the organisation, including compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee finance-related systems and tools, working closely with IT to ensure effective use of ERP and reporting systems.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a strong performance culture and building finance capability across the organisation.
Act as the key liaison with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies.

Role requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in finance, controlling, or financial leadership roles, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong hands‑on experience in financial controlling, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting for large‑scale or regional operations.
Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and influence business decisions through data‑driven insights and commercial acumen.
Solid understanding of financial governance, compliance, risk management, and internal controls.
Experience working in a regional or multi‑country environment is highly desirable.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar) and advanced financial reporting tools.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Able to be based in Johor
