We're looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead and build the finance function for a fast-growing, venture-backed company in Malaysia.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with senior leadership to drive financial strategy, oversee day-to-day finance operations, and establish scalable processes that support business growth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow management, and monthly financial reporting.
- Manage monthly financial close, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Build and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts while monitoring working capital and liquidity.
- Prepare investor and management reporting, including financial performance dashboards and business metrics.
- Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and payment processes.
- Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements, including EPF, SOCSO, PCB, SST (where applicable), payroll, audits, and tax filings.
- Manage external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, bankers, and company secretaries.
- Build and improve finance systems, reporting processes, and scalable financial frameworks.
- Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and company growth.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial management.
- At least 2 years in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience managing the full financial operations of an SME, startup, or high-growth business.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience with accounting software and financial management systems.
- Solid understanding of Malaysian accounting standards, taxation, payroll, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven, commercially minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
