Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations related to the general ledger.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed balance sheet schedules, ensuring alignment with general ledger balances.
  • Review and upload trial balances to the EPM system.
  • Prepare monthly forecasted balance sheets and upload data to EPM.
  • Evaluate CAPEX and fixed asset requisitions in coordination with requesting departments to ensure return-on-investment (ROI) and payback analyses are realistic, well-supported, and include complete justification, capacity analysis, and documented evidence.
  • Conduct post-investment evaluations, including ROI and post-acquisition reviews to assess the effectiveness of capital investments.
  • Monitor and track ongoing CAPEX projects to ensure timely capitalization and accurate reporting.
  • Approve purchase requisitions (PR) related to capital expenditures in line with budget and policy.
  • Prepare and report on asset movements, disposals, and interdepartmental transfers.
  • Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of fixed assets during the year-end closing process.
  • Prepare and submit monthly CAPEX capitalization, payment, and forecast reports.
  • Support the annual budgeting and long-term planning processes related to fixed assets and capital expenditures.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Liaise with tax agent / consultants and regulatory authorities on all tax related matters.
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit schedules and documentation for both internal and external audits.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide required documents, explanations, and reconciliations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to audit queries to ensure transparency and compliance.

QUALIFICATION

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance / ACCA or other professional qualifications.

REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with GL functions, financial reporting, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP system (Oracle Fusion) would be an added advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and possess a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
