Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on, and results-driven Finance Manager to lead the full spectrum of financial operations, accounting, and compliance functions for the Group. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, proven leadership capabilities, and experience managing complex multi-currency and group consolidation frameworks. Operating in a dynamic environment, you will serve as a strategic partner to senior management while mentoring a dedicated finance team.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting: Oversee day-to-day finance and accounting operations across the Group, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
Compliance & Frameworks: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management accounts in strict adherence to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and relevant regulatory bodies.
Group Consolidation: Manage complex multi-company accounting, including routine inter-company transactions, detailed reconciliations, and group-wide elimination entries.
Treasury & Forex Management: Supervise corporate treasury and cash flow management, optimize working capital, and actively mitigate foreign exchange exposures and currency translation adjustments.
Budgeting & FP&A: Formulate annual budgets, financial models, and rolling forecasts; evaluate variance reports (actual vs. budget) to recommend strategic course corrections.
Audit & Taxation Management: Lead coordination for external, statutory, and tax audits, driving the preparation of comprehensive audit schedules and compliance documentation.
Internal Controls: Establish and strengthen company-wide accounting policies, risk management standards, and internal control frameworks.
Strategic Advisory: Provide commercial financial insights and analytical data to support executive decision-making and cross-departmental performance improvement.
Team Leadership: Mentor, manage, and upskill the finance and accounting team to cultivate a high-performance culture.
Process Improvement: Champion continuous workflows and system/ERP enhancements to drive departmental productivity and reporting agility.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or professional qualification status (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, inclusive of strong managerial/team leadership background.
Language Proficiency:Fluency in Mandarin (both spoken and written) is required to successfully communicate and collaborate with regional stakeholders and business entities.
Technical Accounting Skills: Proven experience with group consolidation, complex inter-company reconciliations, and managing multi-currency accounting environments.
FP&A Expertise: Well-versed in financial planning, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Industry Knowledge: Direct experience in the trading or commodity industry (ideally within rubber trading) is a significant advantage.
Trade Operations (Asset): Familiarity with inventory accounting, import/export documentation, trade finance instruments (e.g., Letter of Credit, Documents Against Payment), customs procedures, and indirect taxation (SST/GST/VAT) is highly desirable.
Systems: Experience operating ERP systems or specialized accounting software (knowledge of SQL is an added advantage).
Soft Skills: Highly resourceful, analytical, and adaptive mindset with the ability to manage competing deadlines under pressure with high attention to detail.
