Our specialist areas also manage HSBC's worldwide tax affairs, group treasury needs, and events for investors and analysts. We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of
Finance Manager Local Regulatory Reporting.
Principal Responsibilities
- Overall responsible of the of Capital and RWAs (Risk Weighted Assets) reporting to Central Bank (BNM) for HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad (HBMY) and HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad (HBMS). This includes trend analysis, monitoring of movement and commentaries to BNM.
- Support Board and management committees through preparation of timely & accurate reports. Also handling Business queries pertaining to PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority) RWA and BNM RWA reporting requirements.
- Responsible of the Pillar 3 disclosures in financial statements and work closely with internal audit who will review the disclosures.
- Support the preparation of base data for stress testing exercise to Risk team for local BNM stress testing submission.
- Manage the implementation of new or revised regulatory reporting guidelines/ requirements. Ensure the impact assessments are performed properly. Plan for the implementation with all relevant stakeholders and also participate in any workshops, UATs and trial data submission. Liaison person between with IT team and external vendors.
- Respond to BNM and provide support to internal business partners on ad-hoc queries. Responsible of the investigation and system issues.
- Responsible for maintaining system mapping, extraction and uploading of data, reconciliation work and ensuring smooth running of Finance related systems in relation to financial regulatory reporting.
- Lead a team to prepare the returns accurately and timely in accordance to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Group and local reporting requirements (as appropriate).
- Strong advocate of teamwork and promotes open channel of communication. Act as relief for the team and section.
- Ensure effective controls over the regulatory reporting processes which includes continuous review of current processes for improvement opportunities and strict adherence to HSBC internal policies and procedures. Also responsible to ensure timely implementation of internal and external audit actions or recommendations in conjunction with any issues raised by the auditors. Also drive streamlining/automation of processes to facilitate efficiency
Principal Requirements
- Minimum with Degree qualification. Possessing 3 to 5 years of related knowledge and practical experience of regulatory reporting will be additional advantage;
- Strong independent contributor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; and resilient and adaptable with system technical experience; Possessing the knowledge of Python/ Alteryx applications will be additional advantage;
- Effective communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including experience of presenting, influencing and maintaining strong working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders;
- Ability to work with new and changing requirements from different regulators and be able to analyse these requirements and their impact to the bank
- Good time management, analytical and problem solving skills;
- Firm leadership capabilities of navigating, aspiring, driving, mobilising and sustaining, in line with HSBC values of open, connected and dependable;
