Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

At Nasty Cookies, we are looking for a commercially minded and hands-on Finance Manager to support our continued growth and expansion.

This role will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial operations, management reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and compliance. The Finance Manager will partner closely with the leadership team to provide financial insights, improve business performance, and ensure strong financial governance as the business scales. This is a highly hands-on role that requires active involvement in both strategic finance activities and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple business entities in Singapore and Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process across all business functions.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide timely analysis of key business drivers, trends, and variances.
  • Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives, new business opportunities, and expansion plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, operational efficiency, and cost management.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports.
  • Analyze revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, labour costs, and key financial metrics to support business decisions.
  • Prepare group consolidation reports and provide meaningful financial analysis to management.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across all entities.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital requirements.
  • Monitor daily cash positions and ensure adequate funding for operational needs.
  • Prepare payment schedules and cash flow projections.
  • Oversee banking relationships, treasury activities, and payment processes.
  • Support capital expenditure planning and investment evaluations.
  • Take ownership of the full spectrum of accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and month-end closing activities.
  • Review and process reimbursement claims, supplier payments, and other finance transactions.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare intercompany invoices and monthly intercompany reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore and Malaysia accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage GST filings, statutory submissions, audit requirements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and Commercial teams to drive business performance.
  • Provide financial guidance on pricing strategies, promotions, labour productivity, store performance, and expansion opportunities.
  • Support commercial negotiations, contract reviews, and investment decisions from a financial perspective.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making across the organization through insightful financial analysis.
  • Lead the finance function and build scalable processes to support business growth.
  • Review and improve finance systems, reporting capabilities, and operational workflows.
  • Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and efficiency enhancements across the finance function.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, financial discipline, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 8-10 years of progressive finance experience, including management reporting and financial planning
  • Prior experience in F&B, retail, FMCG, hospitality, or multi-site operations is highly preferred
  • Experience supporting a growing SME or entrepreneurial business environment is advantageous

SKILLS

  • Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities
  • Sound knowledge of Singapore accounting standards, GST, and statutory requirements
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in accounting systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
