Klima Action Malaysia (KAMY) is a women-led climate justice and feminist organization dedicated to addressing environmental and gender justice through rights-based and decolonial approaches. We collaborate with marginalized communities, including women, Indigenous Peoples, and youth, to promote their active participation in climate governance and decision-making processes. As a registered organization since 2020, KAMY focuses on six key areas: Indigenous People, Gender and Women Empowerment, Business and Human Rights, Climate Communication, Just Energy Transition, and Legal Empowerment. We play a crucial role in policy advocacy, coalition building, and global partnerships to amplify gender-responsive climate solutions. Our organization is based in Selangor, Malaysia, and currently has a dedicated team of eight staff members working on various impactful programs.

Role Description

HIRING FINANCE OFFICER

(FULL-TIME POSITION ONLY) (Preferably locals based in Selangor/Klang Valley)

As KAMY continues to grow our work, we need someone to help us maintain strong financial management and accountability.

Over the years, we've managed multiple grants, supported diverse programmes, and built capacity across Peninsula Malaysia. Now, we're strengthening our finance team to ensure we continue operating with transparency, compliance, and integrity.

We're looking for a full-time Finance Officer with salary starting at RM 4,000 to manage our financial operations, from payroll and compliance to grant reporting and budget management. You'll be working in a finance team together with our Finance Consultant, so you won't be alone in this role! You'll also get support from KAMY colleagues across programmes.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Finance, including Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, familiarity with handling manual processes are highly requested.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills and proficiency in identifying trends and insights to guide financial decisions
  • Effective Communication skills to convey financial data and strategies to team members and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools; knowledge of budget management and compliance processes
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required
  • Experience working in the non-profit or climate advocacy sector is highly advantageous
