Job Description

To lead the accounting function and manage a team of accounting professionals, ensuring accurate and timely accounting operations, strong internal controls, compliance with accounting standards, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Manage, coach, and develop an accounting team of at least 6 members.
  • Allocate workload, set clear objectives, and monitor team performance against KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ensure adequate resource planning, task allocation, and staff development.

Accounting Operations

  • Oversee end-to-end accounting operations including AR, AP, FA, CM, IC and GL functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing.
  • Manage closing schedules and ensure adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide accurate accounting information to management and stakeholders.

Internal Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Manage internal audit processes, including audit planning, walkthroughs, and scope coordination.
  • Ensure effective internal controls across accounting processes.
  • Support external audits and regulatory requirements.

Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and risks in accounting processes.
  • Lead process improvement, standardization, and automation initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external vendors regarding finance services.
  • Collaborate with other offices and departments (e.g., IT, HR, OGC, Marketing) to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and third-party service providers as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or professional accounting certification such as CPA, CMA preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in supervisory role.
  • Strong hands-on experience in AP, AR, FA, GL, accrual, cost allocation and closing.
  • Proven experience managing internal audit scopes.
  • Experience with process optimization and automation tools.
  • Excellent communications, problem-solving and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in managing a multi-functional shared services center.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting best practices and emerging trends.
  • Ability manage chang and lead cross-functional project effectively.
