Position Overview

The Finance Manager holds a pivotal position within the organization, responsible for managing and supervising local financial operations and reporting activities in Malaysia. This role ensures strict adherence to local statutory requirements and international accounting standards, actively supports local sales development, and guides management team to successfully achieve organizational objectives. The Finance Manager reports directly to the Regional Finance Manager.

Cibes Malaysia has recently been incorporated (1 year old) to further foster development of distributors across APAC region and to set a solid footprint for direct sales in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage finance and accounting operations, including the areas of financial closing, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure the timely and precise preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, complying with local and group reporting standards.
  • Supervise the preparation and submission of tax returns, working closely with accounting and tax advisors and regulatory authorities to maintain compliance with Malaysian tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls and procedures, safeguarding company assets and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee audit processes, coordinate with external auditors for annual statutory audits, and address any audit findings efficiently.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to inform strategic planning, business development initiatives, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor cash flow, and optimize working capital management.
  • Remain current with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and best practices relevant to Malaysia.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), local tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial closing, budgeting, financial planning, and analysis.
  • Great analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Upholds a high level of integrity, meticulous attention to detail, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as Business Central, Onestream or similar ERP systems, as well as the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is beneficial.
