Our client is a global technology company developing AI-powered robotics and intelligent automation solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity. Its solutions support industries including automotive, consumer electronics, and healthcare.
They are seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager to lead the 0-to-1 setup of manufacturing finance operations in Malaysia. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader with strong expertise in financial accounting, manufacturing cost control, compliance, and factory setup projects. You will play a key role in establishing financial processes, supporting strategic business decisions, and building a strong local finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the setup and implementation of the full finance framework, including accounting, internal controls, treasury, standard costing, and cost management for manufacturing operations.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian Companies Act, tax regulations (including SST), and IFRS/MFRS requirements.
- Manage financial reporting, month-end closing, general ledger, statutory reporting, and local tax matters.
- Support factory setup and CAPEX projects, including budgeting, tracking, equipment investment, ROI analysis, and financial decision support.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support Manufacturing License (ML) applications, MIDA tax incentives, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive manufacturing cost analysis and inventory management, including standard cost, inventory turnover, PPV analysis, and production cost optimization.
- Oversee accounts payable, expense control, reimbursement processes, and fund management.
- Establish financial risk controls and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure operational and compliance excellence.
- Build, lead, and mentor the local finance team while establishing efficient workflows and processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional qualification preferred: MIA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent recognized in Malaysia).
- Minimum 8 years of finance/accounting experience in manufacturing, with experience leading teams.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, cost control, financial reporting, and Malaysian tax regulations.
- Experience in greenfield projects / factory setup / production line commissioning / CAPEX management is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing License (ML) applications and MIDA incentive processes is an advantage.
- Proficient in SAP.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; Malay is a plus.
- Experience in technology, electronics, smart manufacturing, or large-scale manufacturing environments is preferred.
