Job Summary
The Financial Controller oversees the full spectrum of financial management within the manufacturing operations. This includes strategic financial planning, internal controls, financial reporting, compliance, risk management, and providing insights to support business decision-making. The role serves as a key business partner to operations and senior management.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the finance department, covering financial accounting, management reporting, and treasury functions.
- Oversee monthly and annual financial closing and reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS).
- Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning in alignment with business objectives.
- Review and enhance costing systems, monitor gross margins, and analyse cost variances.
- Ensure strong internal controls, effective risk mitigation, and adherence to corporate policies.
- Oversee tax planning, compliance, audit coordination, and liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., company secretary, auditors, tax agents, banks, regulators, etc.).
- Support ERP system optimisation, automation initiatives, and ensure data accuracy.
- Mentor and develop the finance team to strengthen overall capability.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting/Finance, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 58 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proficient in Mandarin, English, and Malay. Ability to read and write in Mandarin is an added advantage.
