Job Opportunity: Financial Controller (Southern Malaysia)

Salary Range: RM13,000 – RM16,000

Company: YBS International Berhad

Location Coverage: Muar, Malacca, Johor Bahru (candidate may select one base location and travel to other sites)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reporting To: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Collaboration: Close partnership with Group Financial Controller (Penang HQ)

Position Overview

The Financial Controller (Southern Malaysia) will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of YBS's Southern operations. Covering Muar, Malacca, and Johor Bahru, this role ensures financial discipline, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting group-wide strategies during an exciting phase of expansion through M&A.

You will act as a strategic partner to operations and management, delivering insights, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement in financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Reporting

• Lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for the Southern region.

• Ensure timely, accurate reporting in compliance with MFRS and group policies.

• Consolidate financial performance across sites for Group CFO reporting.

• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and cost structures to sustain growth.

2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Drive annual budgets and rolling forecasts.

• Provide variance analysis with corrective recommendations.

• Partner with operational leaders to enhance profitability.

3. Internal Controls & Compliance

• Strengthen internal control frameworks across all sites.

• Ensure adherence to statutory regulations and audit requirements.

• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulators.

4. Business Partnering

• Collaborate with plant managers and functional heads to support decisions.

• Provide financial leadership in new initiatives, investments, and M&A projects.

• Align reporting standards with Group Financial Controller (Penang).

5. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams across Southern Malaysia.

• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.

• Ensure succession planning and talent development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW) preferred.

• 10-15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within manufacturing/EMS.

• Strong knowledge of MFRS, taxation, and compliance.

• Proven experience in multi-site financial management.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Analytical, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
