Job Description

About PingPong

PingPong is a leading global payments platform dedicated to empowering businesses of all sizes to grow without borders. We provide innovative solutions for cross-border e-commerce, B2B trade, and international business payments, making it faster, cheaper, and easier for our clients to manage their global finances. As we rapidly expand our footprint across the Asia-Pacific region, we are committed to building a world-class risk management framework that is both robust and business-enabling.

The Opportunity: Build the Future of APAC Risk Management

As PingPong's APAC business expands into new markets and complex segments like B2B trade and corporate services, the nature of financial crime risk has become increasingly sophisticated. This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of a specialized team, shaping the future of how we manage risk across the diverse and dynamic APAC region.

As a Financial Crime Analyst, you will be at the forefront of protecting PingPong and its customers from illicit activities. You will move beyond routine transaction monitoring to conduct in-depth, account-level reviews and investigations into the unique risk typologies of APAC markets—from trade-based money laundering (TBML) in B2B supply chains to sophisticated fraud networks in emerging e-commerce corridors. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of our platform and enabling sustainable growth.

What You'll Do: Responsibilities

Account-Level Review & Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for high-risk merchants during onboarding and throughout their lifecycle.
  • Perform data-driven periodic and event-triggered reviews on APAC merchant accounts to ensure their activity remains consistent with their business profile.
  • Make and document clear, risk-based decisions on account restrictions, closures, or escalations, ensuring a balance between risk mitigation and commercial enablement.

Investigation & Case Management:

  • Lead deep-dive investigations into complex financial crime cases, including suspected fraud networks, TBML schemes, related-account clusters, and sanctions evasion.
  • Utilize a range of internal data and external intelligence (OSINT) to perform document forensics, map relationships, and build a complete picture of suspicious activity.
  • Prepare high-quality investigation reports and evidence packages to support regulatory filings (SAR/STR) and inform senior management.

Ongoing Monitoring & Intelligence:

  • Proactively monitor the APAC merchant portfolio to identify emerging risk patterns, new fraud typologies, and systemic vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with global risk and data teams to develop and refine APAC-specific transaction monitoring rules and risk models.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the financial crime risks specific to key APAC markets (e.g., Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea), sharing insights with in-market and HQ teams.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a financial crime investigations, AML, payments risk, or fraud operations role within a financial institution, fintech, or payment service provider.
  • Investigative Acumen: Proven ability to conduct complex investigations, analyze large datasets, and connect disparate pieces of information to identify illicit activity. Demonstrate a strong intellectual curiosity and a proactive drive to thoroughly understand underlying issues and root causes
  • APAC Market Knowledge: Experience reviewing or investigating businesses in APAC markets is highly desirable. Familiarity with regional documentation norms, business models, and risk typologies (e.g., TBML, documentary fraud, FX arbitrage) is a significant advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Able to articulate complex findings clearly and concisely in written reports and case notes.
  • Analytical Mindset: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Comfortable at leveraging data to identify trends and derive insights that support informed decision-making.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and adapt to evolving priorities.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with trade finance documentation, e-commerce marketplace risk, or corporate services.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable

Why Join Us

  • Foundational Impact: Play a direct role in building our APAC risk management capabilities from the ground up.
  • High-Growth Environment: Join a rapidly expanding global company at the forefront of the payments industry.
  • Career Development: Gain deep, specialized expertise in the complex and fast-growing APAC financial crime landscape.

If you are ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role where you can make a real difference, we encourage you to apply.
