The Role
We are seeking a senior finance leader to head a Group Accounting function supporting Group Office entities within a regional insurance group.
This role is not business-facing and does not support local operating units. Instead, it owns the end-to-end accounting operations, governance, and standardisation for Group entities, with a strong emphasis on intercompany charging models across the Group.
You will lead a team of 1012 professionals (permanent and contractors) and work closely with Group Finance stakeholders based in Hong Kong.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Group Accounting team covering:
- General Ledger
- Financial statements and statutory reporting
- Tax and reinsurance accounting support
- Act as Head of Department for Group Office accounting operations
- Design, improve, and manage the intercompany charging model across the Group
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, governance, and operational execution
- Drive process improvement, standardisation, and change within a regional, matrix environment
- Partner with Group Finance in Hong Kong on policy, reporting, and group-level initiatives
- Manage complexity across multiple entities, stakeholders, and jurisdictions
Requirements
- Background in audit (Big 4 strongly preferred)
- Experience within the insurance industry
- Proven leadership experience managing sizeable teams in complex environments
- Hands-on experience in intercompany charging models, ideally within a shared services or Group Office setting
- Exposure to regional or group-level roles in a matrix organisation
- Track record of driving change and improving finance operations
