Role Purpose -
We are hiring for the role of Manager Financial Reporting
This is an Individual Contributor role reporting to the Director Finance. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Manager / Financial Controller to oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements, monthly closing activities, management reporting, and regulatory compliance. This role involves close coordination with auditors, tax consultants, and internal stakeholders across regions, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with statutory and internal requirements.
The responsibilities we entrust you with -
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Monitor monthly closing activities, focusing on identifying and resolving exceptional or unusual items.
- Lead the preparation of management accounts with detailed balance sheet and profit & loss variance analysis.
- Review general ledger entries and ensure alignment with financial reporting standards.
Monthly Financial Operations
- Prepare and validate monthly cross-charge files and ensure accurate intercompany allocations.
- Perform MIS revenue reporting at the console level for performance tracking and business insights.
- Monitor accounts receivable/payable subvention and fund availability for working capital planning.
- Oversee inventory adjustments in coordination with operations and supply chain teams.
- Maintain and update IFRS 16 lease schedules, ensuring compliance with lease accounting standards.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors across Malaysia and India.
- Coordinate with tax consultants to support direct and indirect tax compliance, filings, and audits.
- Engage with regulatory bodies, including Bank Negara Malaysia, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Drive SOX compliance efforts, aiming for zero or minimal audit observations.
- Support both internal and external company secretarial functions, ensuring corporate governance and statutory filings are in order.
Quarterly & Annual Planning
- Enhance quarterly reporting with in-depth financial and variance analysis.
- Lead the year-end closing process and support preparation of statutory accounts.
- Facilitate and coordinate with auditors and tax consultants for annual audit and tax filing processes.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as needed.
What Matters in this role -
Relevant work experience:
- Masters and Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA preferred).
- 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local accounting standards (e.g., MFRS, Ind AS), and lease accounting (IFRS 16).
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal audit frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
