Overview

The Malaysia Singapore (MYSG) Financial Shaping Manager & Southeast Asia (SEA) FP&A is a dual-focus role critical to driving the financial performance and strategic direction of Royal Canin (a Mars business) in Southeast Asia. This role serves as the dedicated, hands-on Finance Co-Pilot for the Malaysia & Singapore markets, partnering closely with market teams to drive sustainable growth. Concurrently, the role leads the FP&A function and orchestration for the broader SEA cluster (encompassing MYSG, Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand). The successful candidate will blend the Finance Co-Pilot expertise with strong SEA cluster FP&A leadership to consolidate, challenge, and shape financial strategies across all five markets.

Key Responsibilities

Malaysia & Singapore Finance Co-Pilot Scope:

  • Serve as a Strategic Co-pilot: Act as the primary financial partner to the MYSG Market Head and serve as an active member of the Malaysia & Singapore Management Team, influencing key business decisions.
  • Lead Financial Planning & Performance: Drive the complete financial cycle for MYSG, including budgets, forecasts, long-term planning, and the delivery of periodic performance reports and insights to local and SEA leadership.
  • Drive Profitability & Cost Management: Provide robust financial guidance to safeguard profitability (Gross Margin) and optimize performance. Key focus areas include co-piloting trade spend, managing costs (COGS, Logistics), maximizing ROI on investments (A&CP), controlling overheads and cashflow.

Southeast Asia (SEA) FP&A:

  • Lead SEA Financial Analysis: Lead and orchestrate the preparation of periodic financial analysis for the SEA cluster to guide the regional decision-making process and facilitate period-end reviews.
  • Partner with local Finance Co-pilots in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand to drive forecast accuracy, share best practices, and ensure cohesive financial strategy across all five markets.
  • Drive the SEA S&OP Financial Process: Lead the financial portion of Integrated Reconciliation (IR) step of the regional Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring robust and accurate forecasts that connect commercial plans to financial outcomes.
  • Regional Reporting: Manage all regional reporting requirements, including the preparation and consolidation of reports for the SEA cluster leadership and the APAC finance leadership and participate along with the CFO in the APAC IR calls.
  • Champion FP&A Excellence & Digital Transformation: Lead projects focused on standardizing FP&A processes, improving efficiency, and advancing digital analytics capabilities across the entire SEA cluster.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related department
  • At least 10 plus years of working experience in finance-related field +5 years in Financial Planning & Analysis / Budget & Planning / Sales Finance
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Understanding core FP&A functions like budget controls, variance analysis, and financial modelling
  • P&L ownership (Market or Regional) experience will be preferred
  • Accounting Principles: Familiarity with accounting concepts like general ledger, financial statements, and accruals is necessary.
  • Financial Analysis Skills: able to interpret financial data, identify trends, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Spreadsheets & Financial Modelling Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel and potentially other financial modelling tools such as Power BI, Data Visualization and Power Point
  • MNC experience and/or Big Four audit firms would be a plus Knowledge / Experience, FMCG experience preferred
  • System knowledge of Navision, SAP, Power BI, etc. will be an added advantage.
