We are looking for a Firmware Design Engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is based at our Malaysian Office, located in Butterworth. By joining us, you will contribute to building the first large scale battery factories in Europe, Asia and the United States.

Your tasks

As a Firmware Engineer within one of our Cross-Functional Teams, you will support the development of firmware for various machines and assist throughout the project lifecycle—from understanding requirements to testing and delivery. More specifically, you will:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of firmware components under the guidance of senior engineers
• Assist in project tasks to help ensure deadlines, quality, and technical goals are met
• Support the analysis of system constraints (performance, size, power, cost) to help identify practical design options
• Develop embedded software—primarily in C—for prototypes and production use
• Assist in creating and running automated tests using Python
• Collaborate with global R&D team members to learn best practices and help resolve technical issues
• Report to the Design Lead

The ideal candidate has

• A Master degree in Electronic engineering
• Experience in C and Python programming
• Knowledge of the following is a plus:

Real-time systems

Low voltage power electronics

Analog signals and measurements

Communication interfaces (such as SPI, I2C, U(S)ART, CAN)

• Excellent communication skills in English
• The flexibility to travel abroad for trainings and short missions
