Job Description

Working Days / Hours: Monday to Saturday, 08:30AM - 05:30PM / 01:00PM - 10:00PM (shift basis)[6 working days]

Working Location: Yong Peng, Johor

Job Responsibilities

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of driver management and workshop repair operations. This role acts as a key liaison between drivers, planners and the workshop team to optimize fleet utilization, manage repairs, enforce driver discipline, and uphold operational standards.

Workshop Repair Coordination

  1. Oversee and coordinate all repair activities, including:
  2. Breakdowns - Ensure swift response and resolution.
  3. In-house Repairs - Liaise with the workshop team to prioritize and schedule repairs.
  4. Third-Party Repairs - Arrange and follow up on repairs done by external workshops.
  5. Special Cases - Handle unique repair requests or urgent issues requiring immediate attention.

Fleet & Truck Availability Management (Liaise with Driver Management team)

  1. Provide real-time updates on truck and driver availability to the Planner team.
  2. Handle driver requests related to truck repairs by:
  3. Assessing if a repair is genuinely needed before pulling a truck from operation.
  4. Coordinating with the workshop team for necessary repairs.
  5. Allocating a different truck for the driver, if required.
  6. Continuously monitor and improve fleet efficiency to minimize downtime and optimize truck utilization.

Handling Special & Shortage Cases

  1. Assist Senior Executive Driver Management to manage cement shortages OPC / GGBS / truck damages (inclusive of excessive tyre wear or damage cases).
  2. Conduct investigations and interviews with drivers involved in such cases.

Repair Planning & Coordination

  1. Receive tanker repair requests from drivers and assess the necessary actions based on the severity of issues (minor / major).
  2. Ensure the availability of spare parts before scheduling repairs.
  3. Update truck repair and breakdown status in WhatsApp groups to keep all relevant departments informed.

Preventive Maintenance & Scheduling

  1. Monitor and schedule preventive maintenance, including:
  2. Servicing
  3. Bushing and bearing replacement
  4. Tire changes
  5. Greasing
  6. etc.
  7. Arrange and oversee outdoor truck repairs when required.

PUSPAKOM & Compliance Management

  1. Oversee the entire PUSPAKOM vehicle inspection process, including:
  2. Scheduling truck inspections.
  3. Planning and coordinating truck repairs to pass inspections (in-house or third-party).
  4. Managing booking schedules for inspections.
  5. Organizing and updating truck availability for inspections.
  6. Handling gantung (suspension) cases and any special inspection requirements.

Requirements

  1. Strong coordination and communication skills to liaise with drivers, planners, and workshop teams .
  2. Ability to enforce disciplinary actions while maintaining good working relationships with drivers.
  3. Good problem-solving skills to manage fleet shortages and ensure smooth operations .
  4. Strong organizational skills to handle scheduling, reporting, and fleet tracking.
  5. Familiarity with PUSPAKOM procedures and vehicle maintenance requirements is an advantage.
  6. Experience in fleet or transport operations is preferred .
