This role will be based in Petaling Jaya.
What you'll be doing
1. Food Safety Leadership & Governance
- Lead site food safety strategy aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements
- Own governance of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000) and preventive controls
- Provide technical leadership on hazard identification, risk assessment, and emerging food safety issues
- Ensure audit readiness and alignment with global standards
2. Risk Management & Operational Excellence
- Lead food safety investigations, incident management, recalls, and crisis response
- Drive risk assessments for new products, processes, materials, and capital projects
- Oversee validation, verification, and continuous improvement of food safety controls
- Translate regulatory changes and industry trends into site actions
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to embed preventive controls
3. Capability Building & Food Safety Culture
- Develop and lead the Food Safety and Hygiene & Sanitation teams
- Build strong food safety culture through coaching, engagement, and communication
- Develop team capability and succession pipeline across the function
- Support regulatory, customer, and certification audits
- Drive continuous learning and best practice sharing across site
Requirement
- 7+ years experience in food safety/QA in food manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO 9001, GMP
- Experience in GMP, sanitation, microbiology, pest control programs
- Strong analytical skills in interpreting food safety and lab data
- Proven ability in cross-functional project management
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Experience in coaching and developing teams
- Strong risk management and audit readiness capability
- Continuous improvement mindset in food safety performance
