This role will be based in Petaling Jaya.
What you'll be doing
- Develop & Implement New Products & Processes – develop new formulation, processes, review and qualification of new materials, conducting shelf-life studies whenever necessary. Able to lead technical for projects to achieve targets. Coordinate and lead on project trial development, execution to deliver project on time in full.
- Create, maintain, and secure all relevant R&D documentation i.e. formulations, manufacturing procedures and specifications.
- Continuous Improvement Projects – participate in idea development, execution of renovation projects, support in sensory evaluation.
- Drive, support, participate and abide with Product Development systems and procedures.
- Provide relevant technical support and expertise regarding product, process, ingredients, or food regulations as appropriate.
- Keep abreast with regulatory, industry and market food trends.
- Participate in appointed GMP, HACCP, ISO, Halal, OSH or other committees/ audits assigned.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in food science or equivalent subject.
- Minimum 2-3 years product development experience as product in food manufacturing industry, especially from sauces or simple meals industries.
- No food inhibitions or major food allergies (resulting in anaphylactic shock, etc).
- Familiar with general food processes, food safety requirements, local Food Act & Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP.
- Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia, English both verbal and written.
- Good Interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Competent with MS Office applications, BPCS or BOM system, basic financial costings.
