Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Data Science Consultant to provide consultation to our junior data scientists. The consultant will provide coaching and mentorship on data science, AI and machine learning best practices. This includes reviewing projects and tasks, and monitoring progress towards ensuring on-time launching of our machine learning project(s).
Duration: 3 months contract - 20 hours per month
Key Responsibilities
- Coaching and mentorship for junior data scientists as they develop AI, predictive machine learning models, forecasting and statistical models, and interactive dashboards.
- Provide consultation on data science, AI, and machine learning strategies, analytics methodologies, and best practices.
- Reviewing projects and tasks undertaken by junior data scientists.
- Monitoring progress to ensure that these projects go live on time.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, models, and key findings. Presenting findings and recommendations clearly to HOD and team lead periodically.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, business, and other relevant teams as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or a related consulting role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or R.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Python visualization libraries.
- Ability to independently manage projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Experience presenting technical findings and business recommendations to clients or senior stakeholders.
