Job Summary
We're looking for a Graphic Design Instructor to support kids in building strong design fundamentals through practical, hands-on learning. This is a freelance, part-time opportunity with a minimum weekly commitment, ideal for someone who enjoys teaching and mentoring while maintaining flexibility. You'll act as both an instructor and mentor, helping students develop creative thinking, technical skills, and confidence in their work.
What You'll Do
- Deliver engaging online graphic design classes through live sessions, demonstrations, and workshops
- Teach core design principles including layout, typography, color theory, branding, and visual communication
- Follow the provided curriculum and learning roadmap, with light preparation of lesson materials when needed
- Provide clear and constructive feedback on student work and portfolios
- Support students in improving both technical execution and creative thinking
- Encourage students to explore their creativity and develop confidence in their design abilities
- Monitor student progress, engagement, and learning outcomes
- Evaluate assignments, track attendance, and submit periodic performance reports
- Collaborate with the academic team to enhance curriculum delivery and learning experience
- Coordinate with operations and support teams on related initiatives
- Participate in tutor training sessions and quality reviews
- Conduct classes in private and group formats
- Commit to a minimum of 18 hours per week (approximately 10–14 sessions)
- Enjoy flexible scheduling within our teaching hours, with availability required on at least one weekend day
- Manage your schedule responsibly to ensure consistency for students
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Proven experience in graphic design
- Strong understanding of design fundamentals and industry practices
- Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar
- Good communication skills in both Bahasa Melayu and English
- Passion for teaching, mentoring, or working with kids
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is a plus
- Strong visual and creative thinking
- Ability to explain concepts in a clear and structured way
- Patient, student-focused approach
- Good time management and lesson planning skills
- Ability to provide constructive and actionable feedback
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new areas of knowledge beyond your current area of expertise
- Openness to learning about emerging technologies, including AI
- Adaptability and a growth mindset toward developing new skills and knowledge
Nice to Have
- Experience teaching graphic design, visual arts, multimedia, or related subjects
- Experience working with children or teenagers
- Teaching certification or relevant professional certification
- Experience conducting online classes or workshops
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms or online teaching tools
- Experience developing lesson materials or educational content

Compensation & Benefits
- Freelance, fully remote role
- Rate: Up to USD 6/hour, depending on experience and overall evaluation during the recruitment process
- Minimum commitment: 18 teaching hours per week (including 1 weekend)
- Operational Teaching Hour:
Mon - Fri : 3:00 PM - 9:30 PM Malaysia Time
Sat - Sun : 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM Malaysia Time
- Full schedule estimated earnings: USD 126/week, equivalent to USD 500+/month, with potential to increase based on additional teaching hours
