Role Description This is a contract, on-site role for a Freelance Site Safety Supervisor based in Bintulu. The Site Safety Supervisor will oversee day-to-day safety operations at project sites, ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Responsibilities include conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and monitoring safe work practices. The role involves delivering toolbox talks and safety briefings, supporting safety training initiatives, and maintaining accurate records of safety activities. The Site Safety Supervisor will also lead or support incident and accident investigations, prepare reports, and collaborate with project teams to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Experience in Safety Engineering, including risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of control measures.
- Capability to conduct Safety Training and toolbox talks, with clear communication skills suited to site-based teams.
- Proficiency in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis and development of practical corrective and preventive actions.
- Previous experience in site supervision within the oil and gas or heavy industrial sector is highly beneficial.
- Relevant professional certifications or diplomas in safety, occupational health, engineering, or related fields are preferred.
- Ability to work independently on-site, make sound decisions under pressure, and maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- Willingness to adhere to IOSV and client safety policies and to promote a strong safety culture across all site activities.
