Role Overview
The Functional Consultant (LMS) will be responsible for delivering end-to-end Learning Management System implementations, translating business requirements into functional solutions, and supporting full system delivery lifecycles in a consulting/vendor environment.
Business & Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across multiple domains, including Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, and Learning & Development (L&D)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions
- Hands-on experience in fit-gap analysis, solution design, process reengineering, and system optimization
LMS & System Implementation Experience
- Experience working on Learning Management System (LMS) implementations
- in vendor or consulting environments
- Hands-on involvement across the full implementation lifecycle, includingRequirements gathering and solution design
- LMS configuration (users, roles, courses, learning paths, assessments, certifications, reporting)
- Integration with HR systems, SSO, and third-party tools Data migration (users, historical learning data, course catalogs)
- UAT planning, execution, and defect management
- Deployment, go-live support, and post-implementation stabilization
- experience working with multiple LMS modules
- Led end-user training and administrator training
- Preparation of user guides and administrator documentation
Project Management Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, including Gantt chart creation for tracking timelines, dependencies, and deliverables
- Experience managing project milestones, risks, issues, and change requests
- Familiar with Agile and hybrid delivery models, working closely with development and QA teams
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
- Strong facilitation skills for workshops, interviews, and JAD sessions
- Expertise in producing BRD, FSD, USER CASE and USER STORIES
- Ability to ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing and deployment
Solution Implementation & Delivery
- Led and supported UAT, functional testing, and defect resolution
- Supported system configuration, deployment activities, data migration, and integration mapping
- Acted as a key liaison between business users and technical teams throughout implementation
Business Analysis
- Strong analytical skills to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Deep understanding of solution design and process alignment with business objectives
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders across C-level executives, business users, and technical teams
- Strong skills in expectation management, issue resolution, and consensus building
- Effective negotiation and influencing capabilities
Diagrams & Business Documentation
- Proficient in creating process flows, system diagrams, and UML diagrams using Visio and Draw.io
- Clear documentation of As-Is / To-Be processes and system interactions MS Office & Documentation Skills
- Microsoft Word: Professional business documentation (BRDs, FSDs, project plans, user/admin guides, MoM)
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Executive-level and client-facing presentations
- Microsoft Excel: Data handling, reporting, tables, and basic formulas
Agile Mindset & Collaboration
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with tools such as Trello, Azure DevOps
- Strong collaboration skills, including coaching and mentoring junior consultants
Working Experience
- Prior experience in a vendor / System Integrator / consulting environment
- Exposure to multiple clients, industries, and project delivery models, including enterprise systems and LMS implementations
