Manager, Sandakan Region

We are looking for a strong, hands-on Manager to lead and grow our Sandakan Region.
This is not a role for someone who only wants a title. This is a leadership role for someone who can perform in a fast-paced environment, stay calm under pressure, and build a team that is not only strong in results, but strong in culture.
Sandakan is currently a team of 8 headcount, and our ambition is to grow the region to above 30 headcount within the next 18 months, making Sandakan our second-biggest office in East Malaysia.
The right person will play a key role in building that growth.
- About the Role
As the Manager for Sandakan Region, you will be responsible for leading Team Leaders, Specialists, and Fundraisers across B2B and F2F campaigns for WWF and Greenpeace.
This role is 80% field-based and requires someone who is willing to be close to the team, close to the numbers, and close to the daily reality of the campaign.
You will report directly to the General Manager and will be based full-time in Sandakan, with opportunities to travel to KL and KK from time to time.
- Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop Team Leaders, Specialists, and Fundraisers to achieve campaign targets.
Build a strong team culture where people are driven, disciplined, supported, and proud to grow together.
Drive performance across key metrics including team netspeed, client targets, training standards, retention, and team development.
Conduct daily briefings, training sessions, performance reviews, and PIP discussions when required.
Work closely with the General Manager on site planning and regional strategy.
Build a strong understanding of people, motivation, team psychology, and performance behaviour.
Create an environment where younger talents can grow, perform, and develop into future leaders.
Ensure the team remains focused, accountable, and resilient during high-pressure periods.
Prepare and present performance updates and reports to the General Manager and leadership team.
-What We Are Looking For
Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience.
Open to candidates from any fast-paced leadership background.
Strong ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a challenging environment.
Hands-on leadership style, with the willingness to be in the field and lead from the front.
Strong sales skills and the ability to coach others to improve their performance.
Good understanding of team psychology, people management, motivation, and retention.
Able to work well with younger generations and develop fresh talent.
Strong, calm, disciplined, direct, and respectful.
Good communication skills and the ability to build trust with people at all levels.
Flexible with working days and hours depending on campaign needs, including weekends and public holidays when required.
