Position Responsibilities
This position serves as a core technical backbone of the Center, responsible for the full-cycle training work in gas turbine power generation, covering the entire SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) process (Training Needs Analysis, Training Program Design, Training Material Development, Training Delivery, and Assessment & Certification), as well as technical research and exchange cooperation.
(A) Training Needs Analysis and Program Design
• Conduct Job Task Analysis (JTA) for gas turbine power generation operation positions, and compile typical work task lists
• Perform competency gap analysis for operation personnel, identify training needs, and compile training needs lists
• Define training objectives based on needs analysis, and develop Course Outlines
(B) Training Course Development
• Develop standardized training courses: courseware, textbooks, practical operation guides, and assessment question banks
• Design simulator training scenarios and drill plans to ensure consistency with actual plant operating conditions
• Develop assessment standards and scoring criteria to ensure scientific, fair, and traceable assessments
• Continuously update course content, tracking technical updates for GE 9HA.2 and other models
(C) Training Delivery and Assessment & Certification
• Organize and deliver gas turbine power generation theoretical training to ensure accurate and effective knowledge transfer
• Organize simulator training and drills, guiding trainees through typical operating condition exercises
• Organize theoretical/practical skill assessments, execute scoring, and issue assessment reports
• Assist in position qualification certification reviews, supporting certificate production and issuance
• Track trainee training effectiveness and participate in post-training behavioral transformation evaluation
(D) Root Cause Analysis
• Organize or participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of gas turbine operation-related incidents/events
• Transform incident cases into training materials, and develop warning education training courses
• Drive the implementation of Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools in operation training
(E) Technical Research and External Exchange & Cooperation
• Track frontier technology development trends in gas turbine power generation, and conduct training technology research
• Establish technical exchange channels with GE, Siemens, and other manufacturers as well as international training institutions
• Participate in industry conferences and technical forums, exporting the Center's technical achievements and experience
• Promote technology achievement transformation, integrating new technologies into training courses and assessment standards
Qualification Requirements
(A) Basic Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Energy & Power, Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields.
• Good physical health, able to adapt to the training center and power plant site working environments
(B) Mandatory Qualifications
• More than 8 years of gas turbine power plant experience, including more than 3 years as Operations or Maintenance personnel.
• Experience as an internal training instructor, or participation in new employee/position qualification training mentoring.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English communication (for technical exchanges)
(C) Preferred Qualifications
• Experience operating GE 9HA series or equivalent heavy-duty gas turbines
• Experience in SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) course development or implementation
• Experience in Human Performance Improvement (HPI) training or incident investigation
• Experience operating or developing Operator Training Simulator (OTS) systems
• Experience in international technical exchanges or cross-cultural team work
